A little progress shot as I got ready for Crossfit on Saturday. I really didn’t want to go but the results I see and the way I feel after my workouts make it all worthwhile!!
I haven’t posted much lately. You know, life gets in the way and all that.
My husband just got his first paid blogging gig!! How amazing is that? Lots of exciting things going on for our future. We’re working with a friend on creating a business to help engage others and create great change in their lives through overall health, diet and exercise!! Wellness is upon us!
I can’t understand why other people have to chime in with suggestions of what worked for them when someone, in the case I’ve just see, posts that they’re having success following a new eating/exercise plan. Who cares? This person just said what they’re doing is WORKING for them. This isn’t about you. Support and raise them up and you take the backseat. That’s what friends do.
Third official CrossFit class tonight. Surprisingly, I was not that sore after the second one, at least not as much as I was after the first.
What’s more, we went out bowling Saturday night after our morning workout and I bowled a 198. My highest score ever. I was like this bowling badass. My husband was like, “Who are you?!?” He questioned whether or not I’d secretly joined a bowling league near my office on my lunch hours. Really? That would totally interrupt the occasional pedicure or reading that I cherish so much on my lunch hours!
Getting back to CrossFit though, while I don’t lack in strength, I am certainly cardio vascularly challenged. One day I hope to learn to run and breathe correctly. At this point I am just running with the hope that prior to my collapse the oxygen mask will drop from the overhead compartment in time before I expire. Ha! Ha! Ha!
So, that’s what I’m doing for me today. What are you doing good for yourself today?
Happy Monday!
I survived. It was really fun actually and slightly grueling at the same time. Well, at some times more than others.
Warm up (3 Times):
300M row
Then hold plank while your partner completes their 300M row
WOD:
-Sandbag Runs & Burpees
-Push jerk from the rack
-Suicide sprints
I hope I can move tomorrow.
Today I will complete my third and final “Foundations” class so that I can begin CrossFit. Something interesting that I discovered last Friday at my first class was that I’m double jointed in my shoulders. At 41, I’m just discovering this. Kind of crazy. What’s crazier is watching people view the 8 second video because they start out smiling and then their eyes bug out of their heads. “You shouldn’t be able to do that!!”
I rather enjoy doing what I’m told I shouldn’t be able to do.
How about you?
